SHAB-E-MAIRAJ

 'Shab' means 'Night' and 'Mairaj' means 'Ascension'. Basically Shab-e-Mairaj is a night-based journey which was done by Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). The journey started from the Holy mosque of Makkah via Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and ended after reaching heaven. 'Shab-e-Mairaj' is celebrated on the 27th day of Rajab month of Islamic Calendar and Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) did this journey to heaven in the period of 621 CE.


In the year of grief when Holy Prophet (S.A.W) lost the clan protection of Hazrat Abu Talib (RA)(His Uncle), and the support of Hazrat Khadija (RA)(His wife). He was very much disturbed because the revelation also stopped for sometimes and He had no success in His religion. In this condition Allah Almighty blessed Him with a sacred night journey (ascension). He was sleeping in His house when Angel Jibrael (AS) awoke Him, took out His heart washed it with Zamzam, after which He performed ablution and rode on a Buraq an animal from heaven which was larger than donkey and smaller than mule, it was so fast that no one could even imagine or believe.

It took Him to the farthest Masjid Al-Aqsa where He led all Prophets in prayer. Then He rode on the same animal and journeyed to heavens and reached the final point Sidra-tul-Muntaha. Here He was alone because the angel could not accompany Him. He was in the presence of His Lord very close to Him.

Allah blessed Him with 50 daily prayers which were reduced to 5 because Hazrat Musa (RA) asked Him to pray to His Lord to reduce the number of prayers. Holy Prophet (S.A.W) was shown Heaven and Hell and the people inside. In heaven Angel Jibrael (AS) gave Him two cups of drinks one containing milk and other wine,, He drank milk, Jibrael (AS) said," Praise be to Allah Who guided you to al-Fitrah the right path". In the way back He met many Prophets who congratulated Him for this journey.

The entire journey took place in one night. This sacred journey relieved Holy Prophet (S.A.W) from all His worries.

 Back in 2018, when I was in grade 7, one of our teacher divided us in groups to write a suspense story. There were three groups in total, each group consists of six members. My group members said that you have to lead the group but I don't think that I have the right qualities. But our teacher motivate me and said that you have the guts to lead a group. Then first of all I asked each and every member of our group about the points which we have to include in our story. But I was a bit nervous because it was the first time that I was leading a group. Then we begin writing a story, then suddenly our teacher said "Whoever will write a good suspense story will be awarded with gold medal"! Then we got even more excited to write a story. We wrote a story with great efficiency and courage. In about 2-3 hours our story was completed. We showed it to our teacher and she liked it, and the gold medal was awarded to our group.
